Connect your catalog to ChatGPT
Songpot puts your music catalog inside ChatGPT. Describe what the music is for and you get a ranked shortlist you can adjust in plain words and send to a client as a link.
ChatGPT connects to tools through MCP, an open standard. For you that means one web address and one Songpot sign-in. Nothing to install.

On the web, open chatgpt.com/plugins, press +, then Add custom MCP server.

Name it
Songpotand enter this Server URL:https://mcp.songpot.ai/mcp -
Choose OAuth. Sign in to Songpot and approve access. Do not paste a Songpot API key into ChatGPT or a chat.

Review the permissions, then create and install the plugin.

In a chat, type
@, choose Songpot and ask:What is in this catalog?
Your workspace settings may decide whether custom MCP servers are available, and labels can vary.
What you can do

Try it
Use Songpot to find warm acoustic tracks for a slow family montage. No vocals.
Keep the warmth, but make it less sentimental. Show me three and say why each fits.
Make a listen link with those three so I can send it to the client.
Tempo, key, language and vocals are treated as requirements; everything else is a preference that ranks tracks without excluding them. If nothing comes back, drop a requirement. When a result is close, say what is wrong with it rather than starting over.
Good to know
- It searches one catalog: the one your Songpot sign-in gives you.
- Playback is an audition stream, never the master file.
- Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube links do not work in the chat. Describe the reference, or paste the link into search in the Songpot web app.
