Connect your catalog to Gemini

Search your music catalog from Gemini, refine a shortlist in plain language, and ask for a listen link to share with a client.

Before you start

Google currently limits custom apps to English, adults in the US, and personal Google Accounts with Keep Activity turned on. Work and school accounts are not supported. See Google’s requirements and setup instructions for current availability.

Connect Songpot

  1. Open Gemini on the web, then Settings → Connected Apps. If needed, look under Personal Intelligence → Connected Apps.

  2. Under Custom apps, choose Add a custom app (or use the link field). Enter the MCP server URL:

    https://mcp.songpot.ai/mcp
  3. Click Next and follow the prompts to sign in to Songpot and approve access.

  4. In a chat, type @, select Songpot, and ask:

What genres, moods and instruments are in this catalog?

The connector searches the catalog your Songpot account gives you access to. You need your own catalog or an invitation to search one.

Try a brief

Music for an outdoor-brand film, starting quietly under voiceover and opening up for the final summit shot.

Then refine it:

More acoustic guitar, with a little more momentum.

When you have chosen the tracks:

Make a listen link with these five tracks so I can send it to the client.

If Custom apps is missing

Check Google’s account, region, language and activity requirements above. You can also use Claude or ChatGPT.

To remove access, open Connected Apps, find Songpot under Custom apps, and use More details → Disconnect or Remove app.
